Say Magazine is extremely pleased to announce that Saskatchewan Learning has listed SAY Magazine in the Learning Resources Update, 2005 as an appropriate learning resource to support Kindergarten to Grade 12 curricula in Saskatchewan schools.

While at Manito Ahbee in November, Mr. Carl Froese of Manitoba Buckskin came to the booth to say that the story we did on him doing drum building at the Youth Centre was very positive for his business.

My name is Jude Gerrard and I am the Mi'kmaq Services Specialist for the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board in Nova Scotia.  Part of my job is to help our First Nations students stay in school and graduate.  This year I am running a drum making workshop that consists of a number of overnight cultural retreats focused on personal healing.  Each student made their own drum and these will be presented to them when they receive their diplomas.  I am also working on a Role Model wall, a place where students can see people like themselves, succeeding in their goals, and contributing to their communities.  I was wondering if you could send me a signed picture to be included on the wall?

Hadeeh,

I am a 36-year-old member of the Lake Babine Nation.  I have recently written two pieces that I would love to share.  Am I too old to submit something?

I love your publication and wish that there was something as this when I was growing up.

I'm the treasurer of the organization that has built the Human Rights Monument in Ottawa. In its core, when completed next year will be 73 carved granite plaques on which the words "Equality," "Dignity," and "Rights" are rendered in the languages of the Aboriginal peoples of Canada. I picked up a copy of "Say" in the AFN's office here in Ottawa. It looks great and talks about things I ought to know more of, so I'm glad to get your info.

I read the magazine. It was very interesting! And the Baker twins article was interesting too; I thought they were only models so now I know more about them!

I am writing you as I just thought maybe it will make the Natives out there understand that there are many people in the world who respect your culture and want to know more about it...maybe it would give some positive thoughts to someone, I hope.

I wanted to thank you so much for the examples of the SAY magazine. The teachers really like them so I will be putting through a subscription for each of our secondary schools. I just wanted to thank you for your generosity.

I would just like you to know that the issues with my students writing arrived. Amazingly, they arrived on the day we had our celebration party for our grads! What a wonderful surprise for all of us. They couldn't have arrived on a better day.

Thank you so much for providing the opportunity for our students to be published in your magazine. We look forward to receiving SAY magazine in the upcoming year.

SAY Magazine arrived at our house today.  How exciting!  It is a great magazine.

I am really thrilled to read it all and become more familiar with the slant and style of the publication.  I think I'll take it into some of our local Magazine sellers and show it off a bit.  It really is a great publication.

Many blessings and best wishes,
Susanne and Trevor, Boise, Idaho

Thanks for sending several copies of your beautiful magazine, SAY.

It's nice to see there are quality publishers and journalists that still exist among the masses, that don't have time to do the quality work you do.

We really enjoy your magazine.
